Drawing The Line
Posted by Melissa Sugarbeet on October 20th, 2007
I’m going to just say this once, and I’ll use little words so it’s understood.
If you can turn off the computer and all the feelings you have for people in SL end until the next time you log in, whatever. More power to ya then.
But there are some of us who genuinely care about each other. And that DOESN’T end the moment we hit Quit.
So when you hurt someone, maybe YOU are just playing a game. But that doesn’t mean the hurt isn’t REAL to the other person.
*shrugs* Do what you want, but just keep that shit away from me. I’m not here to play with peoples’ emotions just to get my kicks and if you are, just stay away from me and those I love. There are plenty of other people in SL who aren’t here for real friendship. The line is drawn. Keep your shit on that side. We’ll be over on this side having fun without you.

I couldn’t agree more, Meli. Anyone who thinks SL is just a “game” when real people with real feelings are involved is either immature and/or ignorant.
