What the hell....?

The most amazing thing happened today on SoHo. While picking up prims left by visitors we found 2 spy bugs! That’s right two spy bugs!! And what was even more astonishing, they were left by people we thought to be friends.
Now, I am going to take the high road here and not call anyone out. And I am also going to assume this was just a play and test run where clean up was forgotten.
At least for awhile… The great thing about SL is with just a click you know who left their stuff. I know if I was reading this and I left a spy bug on someone’s property I would contact right away and clear up any misunderstanding. But one never knows what people are really doing and thinking so I will give them the benefit of the doubt.
And hope they are really my friends.

Maybe I should rethink the script for that visitor counter in my carpet.

what do spy bugs do?
and could it be a situation where the folks rezzed something to fiddle with it, and then either couldn’t find it or forgot to pick it up?

That’s why I have a 10 minute Auto-return set on my land. That way, even if someone does leave something lying around that shouldn’t be there, it won’t stay very long.

usually if someone wants to rez something and fiddle with it they would do it on thier own land or a sandbox . . .
autoreturn is a handy thing, but owner id is handier.

Hey MB… When I was renting my full parcel at SoHo I used to rez a thing that scanned the sim to find out where people were on the island. It was part of my Mystitool. Is that something you found? If so, I’m very sorry. I think it used to put little transparent things out to see what avatars were floating around the island. Is that something left over? I sure wasn’t “spying” per say. I did have something that would do that in the past that I set up in my condo at bBang, too. It would report back to me anybody’s conversations that were held while in my condo while I was away. I hope that wasn’t something I left behind on SoHo, too. I don’t remember using it there.
Oh well, I’m your friend! Not spyin’ on anybody — lawd, like I’d have the time. :P

Somehow, I just can’t imagine Rich as a spy. Between the red hair, the ever present group of friends and admirers and the big laugh, he couldn’t go undetected for a moment!

Hahahaha thanks for the comment Rich, but this was no Mystitool (very familiar with the product) and the positioning of the spy’s were nowhere near your parcel… this was truly a spy device.
