SL Pet Peeves

Posted by Marlo Kline on May 4th, 2007

On a leash, in a box, in a cage, in a car….

Everyone has them. Sometimes they have a whole zoo of them. Sometimes they are little and fuzzy and not much trouble. Sometimes they are huge prickly things that like to crawl under the skin and drive you crazy.

In SL just as in RL, sometimes it just hard to be like a duck and let trouble roll off like water. I’m pretty good at mimicking a duck, but even I have my moments (crazy, but true.) I’ve always been of the mindset that when you address your pet peeve, it is less likely to go running off and ruin your carpet.

So, Lil’ Miss Marlo Sunshine here is happy to publicly state that my biggest SL pet peeve is:

*****Lack of Common Courtesy*****

And on a leash its pretty well behaved — however, off the lease it will attack without provaction.

ROLL CALL…
Whats your biggest SL Pet Peeve — is it woooly? does it bite? does its claws retract? will it burrow under the skin or is it more like a duck to water?

disclaimer…
(all furry friends, the reference to pets and use of pet or animal phrasings is not meant in anyway shape or form to disparage, make uncomformatable or offend — in place of all animal terms used above, please feel free to reword with oppressively humanlike similar qualities)

Same problem I have with AOL “Buddy” lists. The fact that the contacts list is called “Friends.”

Many of the people on my list, I’d consider them to be friends or on a friendly basis. But with a few others, it’s either purely business or out of convenience.

If SL wants to be taken seriously as a platform for commerce at some point, they’ll make that a “Contacts” list.

i think friends lists should be divided up to where you have serious friends, occassional, and bussiness. Instead of lumping all of them under one heading have them separated to where it might be easier to find your contacts…
