have you ever reached a point with an influx of bad news that everything becomes sort of surreal?
I have. My ex-mother-in-law, whom I love dearly, who has been like a mom to me, who I still see regularly despite her son and I having gone our seperate ways long ago (on a very peaceful and amicable note — no drama) — she just revealed she has pancreatic cancer…

nearly a month has gone by since I’ve been in world… the fourth of July faerie brought me news that a very dear friend, in fact one of my best freinds, was burned horrifically bad in a fireworks related house fire…
I think my umbrella is broken…

Two weeks have passed since my last log-in. Isn’t that nearly 3 months in SL-time? Between massive RL changes and a crushing workload, I just received word that my Dad’s leukemia is out of remission again.
What doesn’t kill us makes us stronger… right? Or does it just render us maimed and hopefully just temporarily incapacitated?

I still consider myself new to SecondLife. I am now 6 months old. Crazy to think 6 months of my life has been essentially involved with a game that has nothing to do with racing cars or fitting little blocks together (ahem, these are the only other sorts of computer/ video games that have captured my attention for any significant amount of time.)
Yes, I still consider myself new…I’m constantly striving to improve my avatar’s appearance (my god my nose bugs me everytime I log in), batteling the fundamentals of building and land ownership. I will admit I spend way too much time and money on shopping, and most recently deleting too many cubes and cylinders.

On a leash, in a box, in a cage, in a car….
Everyone has them. Sometimes they have a whole zoo of them. Sometimes they are little and fuzzy and not much trouble. Sometimes they are huge prickly things that like to crawl under the skin and drive you crazy.

Whew!!! What a month it’s been. My favorite island has been rockin’ the events calendars from here-to-that-place-over-yonder-and-back-again! I’ve had to put some review work up on the shelf while I get to know some of the artists behind the music and I’ve been having the best time ever!
There is no rest for the wonderful!!! ;)

…There You Are!
So many applicable cliches assert themselves in our virtual reality - much as they do in reality. Sure, there exists more freedom for expression and yes, there is less inhibition behind our glamorized avatars. Still, there is no escaping yourself. Thus where you go, there you are.

Hi! Some of you may know me, some of you have merely seen me around. However, I’m reaching out to all of you — even those of you who don’t know me or have ever seen me.
For merely professional reasons, I’m interested in hearing your thoughts on SecondLife. If you aren’t comfortable answering any of the following questions publically, please email me at mailto://marlo_kline@yahoo.com. I do not have affiliation with LindenLabs. The sort of feedback I am looking for has to do with your overall user experience, from a consumer standpoint. :)

I teleported home on Friday, put on my best virtual glitter and hit the town. So much to do, such little time and only one of me — what’s a girl to do? Well how about … everything!!! (or at least a good attempt)
