What comes next 3

Hey everybody,

In my previous post I told you about the big changes the Avatarum team has to deal with.

Indira Bekkers has taken another route. She wants to do it on her own. With her own style. On her own pace.

And Alucin Enoch has a lot of RL on his hands. And he made the wise decision to put his priority on that.

“Partir c’est mourir un peut” the french say and they are so right!

But I had to put things into speed yesterday evening.

Alucin hasn’t been online for quite a while and one of the artists currently exhibiting in his auction house wanted to add some works of art.
That of course was not part of the plan. The plan was to neatly remove the auction house from Avatarum.

So I discussed the matter with the artist and since I couldn’t reach Alucin, and Alucin clearly didn’t communicate the situation with his group members, friends and artists, I took the initiative to communicate for him. And to make things clear I closed down the auction house myself.

At that moment Alucin switched online, because some income e-mails alerted him.

I explained the situation and … he was pleasantly surprised.
The whole thing was growing over his head.

In the Netherlands we have an expression. “De kastanjes uit het vuur halen”. It translates to “getting the chestnuts out of the fire” and it means doing something unpleasant.

I did it for him. I told everybody the auction house was stopping immediately. The situation was clear. Everybody understood that this was for the best. And I got some really nice replies from artists and friends.

What we can learn from this one is that SL isn’t so virtual as it sounds.
Friends, activities, commitments and agreements in SL aren’t virtual at all. They are for real and they can drive a person mad.
It adds on to RL. Extra load.

We should all be aware of that and help each other putting things into perspective again. “After all it is just a game”
