Hehe. I was officially a year old in Second Life yesterday. How did I celebrate? I didn’t. I didn’t even log on. Interesting how certain landmarks in time can be embraced in so many different ways. Some people will mark these times with great revelry and circumstance. Others let them go by quietly, sometimes un-noticed. I tend to “recognize” them, but don’t necessarily make a huge deal about it. Save the occasional remark (or blog post in this instance).
I did want to recognize an interesting observation, though! Banana Stein and I are the same age in RL and we both opened our SL accounts the same day last year. Interesting! He is, however, much more aged in terms of his SLBuzz account. ;)

Well, Happy Rez Day to me. Hard to believe I’ve been doin’ this SL nonsense for a year.
Oh, by the way. I’ve been playin’ around with this new Kyte site. I have a few test videos up there. Go for a laugh or for inspiration. Or watch my cute daughter dance from a few years back. kyte.tv/richpalmer

Did you hear what he did? He hijacked my show! Seriously! He took over Audio Gumshoe this weekend and I didn’t hardly get a word in edge-wise! Sheesh. He did pick some fantastic songs, though. Check it out: http://www.audiogumshoe.com

As many of you know, Hali Heron (Matthew Ebel) has been working his virtual tour in Second Life lately. This is a great warm up and precedent for his tour from Nashville to the eastern United States coming up late this month and into April!
Do you want to help him get to your town? You can help him locate venues and work with them to get shows. You can also show him where you are interested in having him play by creating a demand at Eventful.com. Help make Matthew’s tour a success! (And don’t forget to purchase his CD through iTunes or CDBaby.com — visit matthewebel.com for details.

My apologies to anyone that came by to hear me play at Crazy Sharks this evening. I was very excited to be back in the club today, but as things progressed, I have become very ill. I have no voice and no air to sing. Turns out I’m fighting a sinus infection, bronchitis and more…
My most sincere thanks to Alex Whitmore (Capos Calderwood) for covering my show. He’s definitely a phenomenal performer.

I revived a very old song today. The lyrics were written in 1996, but seem to be very, very appropriate for the world we live in today. I’ve upgraded the music a bit from the original, but otherwise have maintained the general feel and mood.
I have a live recording of this song from a Second Life performance, but I believe that I’ll “produce” this one a bit before I issue it for podcast play.

I have a tremendously busy week ahead of me, but it is good to be back in SL for a short bit tonight. A week away can be an eternity in SL. So, who is hooked up with whom? What has been torn down? What is built new? Who is gone? Who is new?
So much to find out and no time to do so. It will likely revolve again before I get caught up.

This one hurt… so very sorry to see it happen. Here’s the announcement from Old Salt’s Pub that went out just now. (They were my first actual live venue in SL and a regular Sunday performance locale for me):
